Rare small bronze figure of Jambhala, the Buddhist deity of wealth and prosperity, depicted in a dynamic standing posture upon a naturalistic base. The corpulent deity holds a jewel in his raised right hand while his left rests upon a mongoose, the traditional attribute of Jambhala, symbolizing the bestowal of riches. The figure is rendered with a rounded face, pronounced abdomen and compact proportions characteristic of early Tibetan bronzes influenced by the artistic traditions of Western Tibet and Kashmir.

The sculpture displays a warm coppery-brown patina with areas of wear and traces of encrustation consistent with considerable age. Despite its small scale, the figure retains a strong presence and conveys the protective and beneficent character associated with the deity.
