Carved from dark stone, the goddess Lakshmi is seated in lalitāsana upon a base, flanked by lions at either side. She holds a lotus in her right hand, symbol of purity and spiritual power, while the left displays another lotus stem gracefully curling upwards. A circular nimbus rises behind her head. The goddess is richly adorned with necklaces, a high tiara-like crown, and elaborate earrings in the Kashmiri manner.

The sculpture shows the characteristic style of the Kashmir region in the medieval period, with its sharply defined features, linear treatment of drapery, and robust yet compact form. The presence of lions, and the detailed jewelry reflect the syncretic Hindu-Buddhist artistic traditions of the region during this time.
