Carved in dark grey stone, the Buddha stands frontally within an arched niche edged with a beaded and foliate border. He holds his left arm bent across the chest clutching the hem of his robe, the right hand extended downward in varadamudrā. The figure wears a close-fitting sanghāti with incised pleats, and the face is serene beneath snail-shell curls and a prominent ushnisha. The base is carved with lotus-petal motifs in low relief.

This sculpture exemplifies the “Pāla revival” style popular in Nepal during the 17th century, recalling the classic forms of 11th–12th century Bihar with its supple modelling, elongated proportions and crisply defined drapery.
