The baluster-shaped vase is finely potted with a waisted neck and flaring rim, set with a pair of pierced scroll handles applied at the shoulders. The body is boldly decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a large central Shou (longevity) character, reserved against a dense ground of scrolling foliate tendrils. The lower register is encircled by stylised floral panels, while the shoulder and neck are embellished with upright lotus and ruyi-head motifs. The rim is finished with a narrow double-line border.

The prominent Shou character, symbolising longevity, happiness, and prosperity, reflects the vase’s auspicious function, likely intended for a scholar’s studio or as a celebratory gift. The confident brushwork, balanced proportions, and robust potting are characteristic of large decorative wares:
