Of shallow rounded form, supported on a short, neatly trimmed footring. The bowl is covered overall with a soft blue glaze of even tone, pooling slightly towards the interior and thinning to a paler hue at the rim. The glaze exhibits a fine network of crackle, consistent with Song dynasty high-fired stonewares.
The interior shows subtle darker blue and violet splashes caused by variations in glaze thickness and firing conditions, adding visual depth to the otherwise restrained monochrome surface. The foot and base are left unglazed, revealing the buff stoneware body, with a narrow firing ring visible around the foot.
The simplicity of form, refined proportions, and understated glaze effects are characteristic of Song dynasty aesthetics, emphasizing balance, natural variation, and tactile surface quality.
