Cast standing in tribhaṅga, the goddess Parvati rests gracefully on a circular base above a stepped pedestal. Her right hand is raised in abhaya mudrā (gesture of reassurance), while the left hangs gently at her side. She wears an elegant jatāmukuṭa rising high above her serene oval face, adorned with large earrings and necklaces. The supple modelling of the narrow waist, broad hips, and full breasts reflects the continuation of classical Chola ideals, though with the more robust proportions and stylised features characteristic of the Nayaka style of the 16th century.

The surface has developed a smooth dark patina with traces of ritual handling, attesting to long use in devotion.

Bronze images of Parvati from the 16th century continued to be cast for temple worship and processional use, maintaining the legacy of the Chola period while introducing a more vigorous, decorative idiom. Comparable examples are preserved in the Government Museum, Chennai.

The present piece, with its elegant stance and devotional surface, is a fine and representative South Indian bronze of the Nayaka period.
