A finely modelled glazed ceramic head depicting a female deity, most likely Guanyin, shown with a serene, softly smiling expression and gently downcast eyes. The rounded facial features, high arched brows and small, well-defined mouth reflect late imperial Southern Chinese sculptural taste, emphasizing calm introspection and benevolence. The deity is adorned with elaborate floral hair ornaments and pendulous earrings, the details carefully articulated despite the fragmentary state.

The surface retains a variegated glaze with warm ochre, brown and greenish tones, worn through in places to reveal the ceramic body beneath, consistent with age and devotional handling. Traces of encrustation and burial accretions remain visible, enhancing the sculptural depth and authenticity.

The left and right sides show old repairs, visible at the areas of the hair ornaments and ears, stabilizing earlier damage. These restorations do not detract from the overall presence and remain in keeping with the age and devotional use of the object.
