Garuda is Vishnu's mount and often pictured as a human body with a bird's head and wings, therefor he is also known as King of Birds and Kites. This mask shows a human face with a beak-like nose, huge eyes with a piercing gaze, a curled moustache and prominent bushy eyebrows. The ears are pierced with small pendants. The hair is done up in a high bun encircled in a two-stepped tiara decorated with flowers.
