The rounded body rising from three short, tapering legs and fitted with a domed, removable cover, the vessel flanked by two upright lug handles. The exterior decorated in mineral pigments with stylised swirling cloud motifs arranged around a central triskelion-like emblem, the palette comprising earthy ochre, red, white, and black tones. The lid similarly painted with bold spiral designs, echoing the cosmological symbolism characteristic of Han funerary wares. The interior unglazed, revealing the buff earthenware body.

Such tripod ding vessels derive from ancient bronze ritual prototypes and were produced in ceramic form for burial purposes during the Han dynasty, symbolising ritual continuity, status, and sustenance in the afterlife. The painted decoration reflects the Han fascination with cosmic order and auspicious imagery.
