Cast bronze belt hook of elongated form, terminating in a rounded hook, the body decorated in relief with a stylised animal mask and scrolling motifs, recalling early taotie-derived designs. The reverse with integral button for attachment to a leather or textile belt. The surface bears a rich, dark patina with areas of encrustation and wear, consistent with considerable age.

Belt hooks (daigou) were widely used during the Warring States period, serving both practical and ornamental purposes. Their bold designs and sculptural quality reflect the dynamic aesthetic of late Eastern Zhou metalwork, where abstracted animal imagery played a central role.
