Celadon-glazed porcelain with fine crackle (craquelure), of archaistic fang hu form. The vase is potted with a square-section body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall, slightly tapering neck, flanked on the shoulders by a pair of rectangular lug handles in imitation of archaic bronze prototypes. Covered overall with a soft bluish-green celadon glaze of even tone, suffused with an attractive network of fine crackle developed in the firing. The recessed base is glazed and bears a six-character underglaze-blue Guangxu reign mark, Da Qing Guangxu nian zhi, written in regular script.

The fang hu shape derives from ritual bronze wine vessels of the Western Zhou period and was frequently revived in ceramic form during the Qing dynasty, reflecting the court’s antiquarian taste and reverence for classical antiquity. Celadon-glazed examples with controlled crackle were particularly admired for their restrained elegance and association with Song dynasty wares, which served as important aesthetic models for later imperial kilns.

Condition: Minor firing imperfections and light wear consistent with age; glaze crackle throughout as intended.
