Shiva wears a tall cylindrical jatamukuta adorned with a central emblem and elaborate ornamentation. The serene face displays almond-shaped eyes, gently arched brows, and a subtle smile. Large circular earrings frame the face, while necklaces, armlets, and a sacred thread crossing the chest provide further embellishment. The lower garment is secured by an ornate girdle and falls in delicately incised folds around the hips.

The figure likely formed part of a larger Shaivite ensemble intended for temple worship and ritual procession. The elegant stance and refined modelling reflect the artistic traditions that flourished in South India during the late Chola and early post-Chola periods. The composition emphasizes both divine grace and rhythmic movement, qualities that became hallmarks of Indian bronze casting during the medieval period.

A particularly attractive pale green patina covers the surface, the result of long-term oxidation. Traces of wear and minor casting imperfections are consistent with age. The lotus pedestal is cast separately and features a central aperture, likely intended for ritual mounting or installation.
