The Buddha is shown in bhūmisparśa mudrā, the “earth-touching gesture,” with his right hand extended over the knee to summon the earth goddess as witness to his enlightenment, while his left hand rests palm-up in meditation on his lap. He is seated in dhyāna posture upon a rectangular base, the monastic robe draped over the left shoulder, leaving the right shoulder bare, with incised lines indicating the folds of the garment.

The serene oval face is rendered with arched brows, downcast eyes, and a faint smile. The hair is treated with tight curls beneath the ushnīsha. The figure was constructed with a clay core covered in a thin sheet of silver, a technique employed in Thailand to produce light yet precious devotional images. The silver covering has darkened and shows wear consistent with age, allowing the underlying core to be faintly visible in places.

Such silver-clad Buddhas, produced in limited numbers during the late Ayutthaya and early Rattanakosin periods, were valued as personal votive images for shrines or travel, and are today considered rare survivals.
