Standing on a lotus base , holding various weapons and implements in her multiple arms, clad in an ankle-length dhoti and adorned with various jewellery, including large foliate earrings, the face surmounted by a tiara and backed by a flaming nimbus. Her right foot rests on a goose. This sculpture of the Hindu goddess Shri Devi in her form known as Durga. In this sculpture Durga is known as the “destroyer of the buffalo demon”. The name of the demon is Mahishasura.
