Cast in the form of stylised taotie masks, each with prominent scrolling eyes and hooked horns, surmounted by a rectangular tab and fitted with a loose ring handle. The bronzes display a compact, robust casting with deep relief modelling and retain an attractive, naturally encrusted green patina with areas of earthen accretion.

Such fittings were originally mounted on wooden chests, coffers, or ceremonial furniture, serving both functional and apotropaic purposes. The abstracted mask design reflects the continued transformation of archaic Shang and Zhou iconography into more decorative and linear forms characteristic of the Warring States period.
