The finely potted bowl is delicately formed with deep rounded sides rising from a short, straight foot. The exterior is exquisitely decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze enamels in the doucai technique, depicting alternating lotus blossoms issuing from leafy stems, interspersed with ducks swimming amidst stylised water plants. The palette, dominated by soft iron-red, pale green and aubergine tones, is characteristic of the refined and restrained aesthetic of the Yongzheng period. A classic band of lappets encircles the lower body above the foot. The interior is left plain and covered with a clear glaze. The base bears a neatly written six-character Yongzheng reign mark in underglaze blue, within a double circle.
