Cast as a heavy circular ring terminating in opposed scrolling foliate forms. The handle is robustly modelled, with a strong sense of volume and movement characteristic of Khmer bronze work of the Angkor Wat period. The surface retains a richly varied green and brown patina with areas of mineral encrustation, consistent with considerable age.

Such bronze rings are understood to have functioned as handles or suspension fittings for ceremonial sedan chairs or palanquins, associated with elite or ritual use.
