Cast in bronze, this ritual staff fragment comprises a long cylindrical shaft articulated by a series of finely turned mouldings, including lotus-petal bands, bulbous elements, and vase-shaped sections. The upper portion is surmounted by a sculpted head-form with a lateral perforation, indicating the former attachment of an additional element now lost.

The shaft displays a restrained decorative programme characteristic of Tibetan ritual metalwork, with carefully modelled mouldings alternating with plain sections. The lower terminal expands into a domed element ornamented with a decorative frieze and traces of an inscription, suggesting that the piece once formed part of a more elaborate ceremonial object.

The precise original function remains uncertain. The fragment may have belonged to a larger ritual staff, standard, banner support, or ceremonial implement used within a Buddhist monastic context. The surviving attachment hole and unfinished terminal points indicate that the object was originally combined with further components.

The bronze surface has developed a deep dark brown patina with areas of wear and oxidation, consistent with prolonged ritual use and age. The elegant proportions and refined casting reflect the sophisticated metalworking traditions of the Tibetan cultural sphere.
